The Rectorate is recognizing Johannes Melsbach outstanding achievements in academic teaching. Specifically, the award highlights his innovative, practice-oriented, and computer-assisted teaching concept in the technical stream of the course “AI and Information Management”, led by Prof. Dr. Detlef Schoder. His approach allows students uncomplicated and direct access to complex AI models, which creates a low threshold for accessing advanced AI technologies, even for students who do not have significant prior knowledge in this area. This particularly fosters interaction and the students‘ independent and creative engagement with demanding content and with what they have learned. His teaching concept is viewed as a significant further development of the lecture concept and contributes decisively to the students‘ excellent technical-scientific education, setting standards for future-oriented higher education. The official award presentation took place during the University‘s Annual Reception on the evening of April 29, 2025.
